OPM3® Assessments and Improvement
The Project Management Institute’s OPM3 standard emphasizes the value of organizational project management in the delivery of organizational strategies. PMI has set up a system to conduct OPM3 assessments and to work to identify an improvement program using a robust tool, the OPM3 ProductSuite. Organizations that have conducted these improvement programs note benefits such as fewer costs and schedule overruns, improved customer and team satisfaction, and a reduction in redundant programs and projects.

OPM3 offers the key to organizational project management maturity with three interlocking elements:

Knowledge - The Knowledge element lets organizations uncover hundreds of Best Practices and shows them how to use the information available in OPM3.

Assessment - The Assessment element is an interactive database tool that lets organizations evaluate their current situation and identify their areas in need of improvement should an organization decided to embark on the path to higher maturity.

Improvement - The Improvement element will help map out the steps needed to achieve their goals.

The OPM3 maturity model was developed as a framework, path, and guide to manage and improve organizational project management processes.

Our Services

OPM3 Maturity Assessment. Our certified OPM3 Assessors work with your organization to assess its project management maturity. This assessment is scoped to meet your organization’s unique needs. During the assessment, the assessment team will conduct interviews and review your existing portfolio, program, and project management processes, procedures, and guidelines. They will then analyze the data and prepare and deliver a detailed report of their findings according to the OPM3 Best Practices your organization has achieved. The data is owned by you for your later use.

OPM3 Improvement Program. A Our certified OPM3 Assessors will work with your organization to develop an improvement plan focusing on the Best Practices your organization should implement based on your priorities, their attainability, benefits, and cost. We also can work with you to develop metrics to measure business performance improvements.

Support to Implement Specific Best Practices. We can continue to work with you to help your improvement teamto set up processes, procedures, and guidelines to quickly and effectively implement the key areas of improvement based on the OPM3 Program.

Our Processes

Our processes are simple, we start with a planning session to understand the work scope, we then conduct discovery session on site, and often this includes interviews to key process owners, project and program managers, and executives. The interview will involve more people if the Assessment is for all three domains - Project, Program and Portfolio. We also gather evidence and review artifacts along the way. Once we have all the raw data, we start our analysis based on our understanding and the result of the OPM3 ProductSuite. From there, an Assessment Report and an Improvement Report will be generated and presented to the client. Highlight of the finding and recommendation will be presented in Summary Report format for busy executives.
